BISBEE Architecture+Design is a visionary design Studio founded in 2014 by Nate Bisbee, AIA.
After living in Italy and New York, Nate returned to California where he has practiced Architecture since 2002. Carrie joined the Studio in 2017 as interior designer. With the beauty of Sonoma County as a backdrop, the studio serves clients and communities throughout Northern California with a responsive style and fresh ideas. While the work is inspired by broad influences, it has grown deeply reflective of our regional landscape. The Studio's designs are characterized by strength and clear order, transparency and light, and care in the material details that connect people to the setting.
The Studio's purpose is to uncover a specific vision for each project and to help our clients construct it. Every site has its own history and true nature. Through careful observation we discover the traits that define a place. We listen and develop strategies to meet our client's needs. Architecture is the art of synthesizing the character of a place with our client's goals for living, working, and learning.

Bisbee A+D and our expert team make design ideas and concepts legible. It’s important that clients feel connected to the design process. We use both analog and digital tools to convey site design, building massing, and a sense of materials and lighting. Sometimes a sketch or model is the best way to understand and communicate an idea. But, we also use digital tools for all phases of every project. Each project is maintained in three-dimensions utilizing BIM software (Building Information Modeling). Through dual-modes, digital and analog, the design process is adaptable and accessible to our clients, the community, and to builders.
The projects that we design are characterized by connections between inside and out. Daylight and views define our public spaces and provide occupants with a sense of well-being. We believe Interior Design is an integral part of Architecture. Interior space planning begins at the outset of the design process. We work to incorporate a strong sense of place and the specifics of functionality into early sketches and three-dimensional visual studies. Clear communication of ideas keeps stakeholders informed of progress and goals each step of the way.
Architecture is a team sport. We work collaboratively with a Design Team of engineers and technical experts to choreograph each project. The Design Team communicates openly about critical choices that are made during the course of every project. At the same time, we keep the communication channels open with our clients. It’s important to know that challenges are being taken head-on and owned by the team.
BISBEE A+D provides architectural and design services with personal attention and care from concept through construction.
