Some places leave an impression on your life. For me, like so many others, living in Italy nearly 20 years ago was a sort of awakening. The quality of the atmosphere in that country is undeniable. Even in this small group of photographs, pulled from an old scrapbook, the air is apparent. The sights and experiences of Italy and many unique places around the world influence our work. In creating spaces and designs for today, we draw on universal notions of the value of light, material, and age.
