SUMMIT ENGINEERING

This playful and professional new office for a regional multi-disciplinary engineering firm celebrates simple materials. Birch plywood panels, open expressed structure, earth-inspired carpet, wood flooring, and comfy furnishings work together to create a fresh-feeling space for collaboration. White walls and ceilings pull in natural light from perimeter windows making the space bright while also serving to showcase Summit's own lighting design. Choreographed systems, mechanical, structural, electrical, and even sprinkler piping make the interior a demonstrative example of how design and builder teams can share authorship of architecture and engineering. Jim Murphy and Associates and team made the new office a reality.
