WARRIORS ARENA

As the Warriors head into their second NBA finals game tonight, just thought I'd share a few images of Snohetta Architects original vision for their San Francisco arena. The design was release back in late 2012 and went through a few updates in the months that followed. The affect that the pier location near the Bay Bridge could have been profound for the City. The idea of a 360-degree wrap-around public veranda with access to Bay, Bridge and City is simple and ingenious. The site has been changed, and the project is now located in Mission Bay. By the look of it Snohetta is no longer involved, as the original concept has been relocated to a different site without really being re-designed for the new setting. However, it's still a great thought to co-locate our major sports venues in the City. To see images of the latest location and revised design visit: http://www.nba.com/warriors/sf. Go Warriors!
